Case Study: Butterfly Rise

Some projects aren’t just about building a website — they’re about creating a digital space that feels safe, intentional, and aligned with the heart of the work being done.

Butterfly Rise was one of those projects.

From the very beginning, this website needed to do more than look beautiful. It needed to communicate trust, clarity, and compassion. Butterfly Rise serves women navigating growth, healing, and transition, and the online experience had to reflect that same sense of grounding and support — without feeling overwhelming or overly complex.

The Challenge: Translating Heart-Centered Work Into a Clear Message

One of the biggest challenges with values-driven organizations like Butterfly Rise is balancing depth with clarity. The mission is layered. The offerings are meaningful. But when too much information lives on a website without structure, visitors can feel lost instead of supported.

The original goal wasn’t to “add more,” but to create intentional flow. The site needed to clearly explain what Butterfly Rise offers, how the programs work, and what someone can expect — all while maintaining a gentle, welcoming tone. This meant stripping away confusion, simplifying language, and designing with the user’s emotional experience in mind.

We got to work primarily with taking existing content and refining it into a clearer, faith-driven message. Everything found a place with our copywriting services and condensing prose into easier to navigate information.

The Approach: Clarity First, Always

The development process began with strategy, not aesthetics. Before touching design, we focused on how someone would move through the site and what questions they’d likely be asking at each step. What is Butterfly Rise? Who is it for? How does participation work? What makes this experience different from a workbook, course, or self-guided program?

From there, the website structure was rebuilt to guide visitors naturally, allowing each page to breathe while still delivering essential information. Copy was refined to feel reassuring, confident, and human — never clinical or overly sales-driven. The design supported this by using calm spacing, intentional typography, and a visual rhythm that encourages visitors to slow down rather than rush.

Every decision was made with accessibility and emotional clarity in mind.

Visually, one of the sticking points Decelle Branding wanted to focus on was the diversity of women who would benefit from this service. Different races, ages, body types, financial situation… women need a village and it was my goal to represent that vision in the visuals we used for the website.

The Result: A Website That Reflects the Experience Itself

The finished Butterfly Rise website now functions as an extension of the program. Visitors can immediately understand the purpose of the organization, how the offerings work, and whether it’s the right fit for them — without feeling pressured or confused.

Instead of overwhelming users with dense content, the site invites exploration. Information is presented in a way that feels supportive and grounded, mirroring the guided experience Butterfly Rise provides through its programs and life guidance sessions. The website doesn’t just inform — it reassures.

Rachelle Pierre, one of the amazing women involved in this project left a beautiful testimonial for Decelle Branding’s work:

Working with Jasmine to build our Butterfly Rise nonprofit website was an incredible and meaningful experience. We were very new to this online space, and she was patient with us every step of the way. She took the time to explain things in simple terms, help us understand the process, and guide us through decisions that we did not even know needed to be made. She did not simply design a site. She listened, learned our story, and honored our mission and the women we serve. The final website is elegant, functional, and feels like a true reflection of our heart and purpose. We are beyond grateful and would happily recommend her to anyone who wants a designer who brings both skill and compassion to the table.

Why This Project Matters

This case study is a perfect example of why website development should never be just about visuals. When a website is built with intention, it becomes a tool for trust-building, clarity, and connection.

Butterfly Rise didn’t need a flashy website. It needed one that felt honest, aligned, and deeply respectful of the women it serves. The final result honors the mission while giving the organization a digital foundation that can grow alongside its work.

This was Decelle Branding’s last project of 2025 and reaffirmed our commitment in 2026 to helping women-owned businesses.
